The label, printed in gold on a dark blue background with an ornate hexagonal border, identifies the recording as "Just Gone" (Oliver-Johnson), performed by King Oliver's Creole Jazz Band, manufactured by the Starr Piano Company of Richmond, Indiana.

This recording holds significant historical importance as one of the earliest studio recordings featuring Louis Armstrong, who played second cornet alongside King Oliver in this pioneering ensemble. The session took place on April 5, 1923, in Richmond, Indiana, and represents part of the foundational body of recorded work that helped establish Armstrong's early career and the sound of New Orleans-style jazz as it transitioned into the recording era.
